2020 - Present

As a UX Researcher, I'm currently working on IBM's Asset Performance Management Application, Maximo APM.  I apply qualitative research methods, such as semi-structure moderated interviews and remote usability test, to understand how users use this solution within their role, organization, and industry and look for ways to improve their experience.

As a UX Researcher (Intern), I confirmed the value of including usability metrics in Maximo APM Health and Predict solutions by applying qualitative research methods, moderated interviews and remote usability, to understand how users use usability metrics within their role, organization, and industry.

Through synthesis and analysis of qualitative inputs, I generated insights and recommendations in 3 key areas: prioritization, use, and visualization. The outputs from my research confirmed previous assumptions by the Offering Manager and key stakeholders and therefore they decided to move forward with implementing the metrics into a future 2021 Q1 release.

2019 - 2019

As a UX Researcher, I improved the usability of the online retail by leveraging both qualitative and quantitate methods.  By cross validating early qualitative signals on potential issues with Guggenheim’s online retail check out process, I hypothesized a gap in the users mental model vs. Guggenheim's current process.  By recruiting usability experts and conducting heuristic evaluations I was able to identify possible gaps and develop insights to the shopping cart abandonment issue they were facing.

With concise synthesis of these inputs I was able to create actionable recommendations and worked closely with the E-commerce and Interactive department to create a plan to implement the changes in a future revamp of their online retail shopping website.

As a UX Researcher, I applied qualitative research methods to enhance the functionality and design of a beta application Think of Us created to help young adults transition out of the foster care system.  Through in-person usability tests, I was able to identify insights on the expectation and behaviors of youth as they manage and plan their next steps in their life.

These insights ultimately lead to recommendations on improvement in the application’s goal setting, decision making, and tone.  Developers and designers used these outputs to further refine the application prior to production release.
